Administrative Assistant
The Alaska Association of Conservation Districts offers a forum for education, promotion and communication between the individual Soil and Water Conservation Districts throughout Alaska and provides administrative, financial, human resources and limited program support to individual Districts.
The Administrative Assistant will provide administrative support including accounts payable, reporting and office management. While this is an Association position, work effort will be directed by the individual Districts supported by this position. Initially, the Administrative Assistant will work for 3 Districts; Anchorage, Palmer, and Wasilla. In the future, there may be opportunities to expand this work to help support additional Districts in Alaska. Typical work duties could include, but are not limited to the following:

Maintain soft ledgers for active District projects

Process receipts and accounts payable

Collect employee timesheets and submit for processing

Submit required reports for District projects

Communicate with funders regarding reimbursement requests, reporting requirements, and other information
Position Requirements:
-
Proficient computer skills (including Microsoft Excel)
-
Experience with typical administrative assistant work duties
-
Effective communicator / professional writing skills
-
Organizational skills and ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
Preferred Qualifications:
-
Experience with QuickBooks
-
Project management experience
-
Interest or experience in natural resources conservation

Website development or maintenance experience
-
Ability to identify funding opportunities and coordinate the assembly of proposals (grant writing)
Salary & Job Details:

Hourly rate DOE (Estimated at $20 - $30 per hr)

This position will begin as a part-time position (15 – 20 hrs/week) but has the potential to increase based on interest of the individual.

This position will involve occasional travel between the Wasilla and Anchorage offices. The candidate is welcome to work from home or there is space available in the Wasilla office if desired.
